How the calculation works +
- Riding days per month = days per week × 52 ÷ 12. Each riding day includes a return trip.
- Car costs avoided = fuel for those trips + avoided parking and tolls + your monthly car-maintenance allowance.
- Scooter operating cost = distance × wall charging energy × electricity price + monthly scooter-maintenance budget.
- Monthly net savings = car costs avoided − scooter operating cost. Annual savings = monthly savings × 12.
- Break-even months = scooter purchase price ÷ positive monthly net savings. No break-even is shown if monthly savings are zero or negative.
Example costs and energy use are editable assumptions, not live market data or model specifications. Results exclude finance costs, depreciation, resale value, insurance, unentered repair or battery replacement costs and travel on non-riding days. Holidays, weather and seasonal changes are not modeled. Check the suitability of the chosen model and route separately.
